Maria Simona Cianchi

She obtained her diploma in lyrical singing at the Conservatorio Statale of Music “A. Boito” of Parma under Donatella Saccardi and she also obtained the Level II experimental diploma at the same institute with the maximum of marks.

She frequented a master’s class with Michele Pertusi, Elisabetta Fiorillo, Parizia Ciofi, William Matteuzzi, Bruno De Simone. She is currently studying with Alessandra Rossi De Simone.

In 2005 she interpreted Elvira in Verdi’s Ernani at the Teatro Reggio of Parma during the sixth edition of “Imparolopera”. In the same theatre she played the role of Verdi’s Aida in the seventh edition of the same event.

In October 2006 she interpreted Nedda in “Pagliacci” in Dello (BS) and she took part in numerous concerts.

In 2007 she took part in the Verdi Festival “Verdi tra di noi”, the event having been organised by the Teatro Reggio of Parma, singing in concerts based on selections by Attila and Stiffelio at the Teatro Reggio’s Ridotto and at the G. Verdi Theatre of Bussetto. On the occasion of the Toscanini Celebrations organised in Parma by the Arthur Toscanini Celebrations Committee, she sang inedited lyrical pieces composed by the Maestro.

In 2008 she interpreted Abigaille in Verdi’s Nabucco at the Rosetum Theatre of Milan and in July she sang at the Filippeschi di Montefoscoli Festival singing pieces of Tosca and Turandot. In October she interpreted the Nabucco’s Abigaille at Lecco’s Cenacolo Theatre and she sang pieces at the Verdi Festival from Nabucco, pieces from Attila and Aida at the Teatro Reggio’s Ridotto of Parma, at the Verdi Theatre of Bussetto and at the Magnani Theatre of Fidenza.

In February this year she played Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana” at the Rosetum Theatre of Milan, at Brunico’s Teatro Comunale and in May in Bressanone. In May she also interpreted Amelia in Verdi’s Ballo in Maschera in Lecco and in April she sang in a concert at the Animosi Theatre of Carrara with the tenor Nicola Martinucci. In June she played Nedda of Pagliacci in Pavia and in July she interpreted Tosca in Varazze.

Among her future programmes she will play Abigaille in “Nabucco” at the Teatro di Faenza and Leonora in “Forza del destino” at the Rosetum of Milan.
